Minister of Music & Golden Gems
I was born and raised here in Lebanon, Tennessee, making my profession of faith in Jesus at age twelve and becoming the church pianist at age thirteen. I began college with the goal to become a CPA, but the Lord had other plans. Surrendering to full-time ministry as a junior in college, I changed my major to choral music, receiving my Bachelor’s Degree at Middle Tennessee State University and my Master’s Degree at Belmont University. My wife is the former Dena Howell of Lebanon. We married in 1982 and have two grown sons, Dallas and Daniel, who are both Metro Nashville Police Officers (Daniel is also a Cavalry Scout Sergeant in the Army National Guard).
I began my first music ministry position in 1980, serving three years in Gordonsville, TN. In 1983, Dena and I moved to Nashville and served there 26 years. Finally, we moved back home to Lebanon and have served at Immanuel since February of 2009. In January of 2017, I also began to direct the IBC Golden Gems Senior Adult Ministry.
I enjoy reading, playing the piano, and keeping up with computer technology, as well as classic cars (Mustangs and Corvettes).
