The Gathering Worship Leader
I met my wife, Weslea, while working at a Christian camp in the summer of 1992. We were married in 1995 and have 2 beautiful, high-schooled aged girls, Chapel and Addison. Weslea and I are both originally from Mississippi but have called Tennessee home for close to 20 years now. We are also both college professors, as well as the wearers of several other hats.
While transitioning to college I felt a strong call to ministry. Through my involvement with BSU and church during my time at Mississippi State University I was given the opportunity to become deeply involved with Christian music. After graduation I continued to follow this calling for several years and was itinerate in both Christian bands and in solo worship leadership mostly in youth and college settings. In the early 90s I was part of a church plant in Jackson, MS, and the Worship Pastor for 5 years in that setting prior to moving to Tennessee. I have been the worship leader of The Gathering service at Immanuel Baptist Church since its inception.
I not only enjoy playing and singing music live, but also love the recording process. Another favorite thing is a deep affection for horses that I’ve had since as far back as I can remember. My family currently has a small plot of land and several 4 legged friends to play with. Since my days working in a cabinet shop in college, woodworking has also been something that I totally enjoy, though not as often as I would like.
…Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” AmenMathew 28:18-20
